Borg or Dead

Post by Teaos »

Simple question.

You are in random senario X and about to be over run with the Borg, your the only person around. There is no possible way of escape and the Borg drones are literally seconds away.

Do you put your phaser to your head and fire, death before drone. Or fight to the last, maybe killing a few more drones before becoming one of them.
What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

No question from my point of view: I put my back against something, fire my phaser until the drones adapt, and then it's overload time. With any luck, the blast'll take some them with me.
Warning: Erwin Schrodinger will kill you like a cat in a box. Maybe.

Ditto. Go down trying to take as many down with me as possible.

Borgification is far worse than death, IMO. I'd rather not have my body mutilated and controlled by some other entity.

Usually I'd agree, but if that entity is the Borg Queen... 8)

Perfect. I second this idea, except I'd run into a crowd of them when the phaser was close to overload.

Count me in too. No way do I not only lose my individuality but have my identity stripped and disseminated among an anonymous collective - and FWIW, the death would be a 'honorable' one to whoever cares, and more practically a useful one in some small way.

I'm with you guys, take as many out as I can when I have the chance, and don't get borgified.

Hmm. 9-0. It looks like Borg propaganda about the benefits of assimilation are somewhat unconvincing to DITL.

well, since it's been stated the Borg assimilate populations not just any group of people, I might be safe...

...however in the spirit of the question, I'd grab a couple phasers and beam over to the Borg ship as close to their central plexis as I could. I'd set one to over load and the other I'd leave so I can shoot any borg that come near me, hopefully I can take down the whole cube!
