Ahh, that explains it. I never saw any of oBSG, and only caught the opening miniseries of nBSG.

Even if you hate nBSG, you've gotta admit one thing: the lack of Boxy and Muffit is definitely a plus in favour of it.

I don't doubt it (doesn't make me feel any better about it tho). Replacing "What" with "Why" might be more accurate.
