A TOS fan I see...
What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

I think she (he?) means the Security Chief of Babylon 5 who bares an uncanny resemblance to Bruce Willis.

Yeah, I think she was reffering to B5.

Commanding Officer: Jean Luc Picard (all round diplomat but can be a warrior if needs be)
Executive Officer: Spock (loyal, accomplished, intelligent, multi-talented)
Tactical Officer: Tuvok (Logical tactician)
Security Officer: Worf (Hard man, loves fighting)
Operations Officer: Data (millions of calculations per second :))
Helms Officer: Tom Paris (I mean, come on, he is the original flyboy!)
Chief Engineer: Argyle (I'm kidding...) for the man who wrote the book, Scotty.
Chief Medical Officer: 'Endgame' EMH as he can, in theory, be programmed with the collective medical knowledge of millions of species) but if required to be a 'real' person, Julian Bashir because he is an augment and theoretically, more mentally and physically capable that every other canon doctor.

Here's one.....Who's been the best redshirt? The best piece of cannon fodder? The best character destined to die in the next few scenes? The proverbial 'Ensign Deadman'?

A shame, because for all his shortcomings and faults Gene created the most enduring sci-fi franchise in history, and save for the James Bond franchise probably the most successful television/motion picture institution of all time.

Was TNG lame the first couple seasons? Sure. But there were a couple good episodes and the groundwork was laid for a magnificent series. TOS is a fantastic show IMO and I like TMP.
