They do seem obsessed with efficiency though. Although certainly a lot of what they do seems wasteful from our perspective.
Agreed.
I'm just taking a wild guess that their ships almost perfectly match ideal forms for transwarp travel. Seems in keeping with their OCD nature.
Before the appearance of the Queen, I would have agreed with you. Now it may well be that she likes the shapes, they make her hot or it's a link to their past.
What the hell? Are you saying a cube doesn't make YOU hot?

So many wonderful places to hide a cube.

Yeah but without a string or handle it might get lost, deeply lost.

That's what those big mechanical-servo Borg arm add-on things are for, naturally.

Batteries not included? And do they come with a choice of attachments?

The Borg use a different method of warp travel. The Feds method needs a smooth shape and nacelles outside the ship. While a cube is a good design it just wouldnt work for them yet.
What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.
