So according to this Archer is the captain with the fewest mistakes... odd. Granted he only had 4 years not 7 like the rest.

That is odd. Like how most of us seem to have agreed that Tom Paris is the best Helm choice.

In the right does it is but in a Military it is a very bad thing. If you know when to say know and not to follow and order you know is wrong that is good. But in general day to day opperations it will have you cleaing out the toilets for a month.

I agree completely. There are always circumstances that grant soldiers the right (and in fact, the duty) to refuse orders, though. If a PFC in the Marine Corps. is ordered to excecute children, he's supposed to tell his CO to cram it.

Weird is, Archer probably had the biggest 'excuse'-for lack of a better word-to be have the biggest mistakes. Instead, he helped end Vulcan/Andorian hostilies and helped form the foundation of the Federation.

No wonder I like the guy.

He really was a good diplomat. He made friends with pretty much everyone he knew.

Two things come to mind about Archer: the racism and becoming a pirate when he ripped off those parts from a passing ship. The first is somewhat understandable given that the Vulcans were giving humanity the cock. And I realise the second was required to prevent Earth from being destroyed but I would have liked a follow-up where he goes back and fixes the ship for them.

His view on the Vulcans were one of the reasons I liked his character. You could really relate to why he felt like they were holding them back.

He ended up friends with T'pol. But his views on Vulcans didnt change to much.
