Indeed, go over to Trekcore and check out the episodes written by Roddenberry himself. Most of them are stinkers and the best episodes (like the Roga Danar one) have a military bent to them. Its not hard to believe. How many times can you talk to a new alien species and have a misunderstanding before it gets old. Now blowing up said aliens... endlessly entertaining.
