What does this mean? :?
It refers to posting in threads that have been inactive for weeks or months - it's generally frowned upon, since it's nigh-on impossible for people to remember what they'd been saying at the time. A better approach would be to start a new thread on the subject.
In really active forums I could see that, and have been told that before. But eh. Here it's rare for more than the very top most 2 threads to be receiving any posts at all, so it's not exactly like I'm spamming the place up.
Oh, I'm not complaining - in fact, you've sparked some lively banter. I'm just mentioning it, is all.

BTW, have we gone from necro-ing threads to actually resurrecting other ones?

It's funny how every forum has its own little culture, I too had a very different impression when someone said "necro'ing." I've been to other forums that used completely different terms, but with the exact same meaning. I think the last forum I was at called it leapfrogging or something.

I hope you didn't confuse my shorthand for "necromancy" with a reference to "necrophilia." I mean, I'm down for a lot, but even I have lines I don't cross.

Here's an odd fact. Necrophilia is legal in Wisconsin.

I don't know what I should be more concerned about: the state of things in Wisconsin, or the fact that you've made the effort to find that out.

It doesn't surprise me, honestly. Not that "it doesn't surprise me about Wisconsin", but just the litany of what is or isn't legal in various states is often antiquated or things states just never bothered to legislate. Technically in a free society something is okay until it's explicitly banned and I doubt they've caught that many people in WI digging up old girlfriends... heh heh.
