Best Trek Movie Moment 6: The Undiscovered Country

Post by Varthikes »

Sorry I took so long. But, here's Star Trek VI.

:)

Like The Voyage Home, this one is also filled with great moments.

But, I'm going to go with the farewells at the end. With Kirk's final log entry and the signing off. I shed a tear every time.

I had to go with the trial. Cinematically very well done... the ambience of the scene was a strong counterpoint to the tidy naval finish we're used to seeing on Fed ships.

I chose to go with the battle, but really any of these moments were excellent.

So many good one's to pick from! AHHHHHHH! I went with the farewell. It was the end of an era for me. A time a little while ago, in a place not really so far away. An age of strength, courage, will power with the added senses of purpose and pride. When Kirk alone stood against the nearly endless tides of angry women and helped to populate the galaxy! Spock solved problems that even the greatest super computers could never hope for! McCoy cured the incurable and sometimes a lady. Scotty held together a starfleet ship that never had a warp core GO BOOM! We saw that Russia has all good things and that even a gay man can serve in the armed forces. When a woman could enlist as an equal (as close to as possible at the time) and all good looking woman wore short skirts!

The Farewell scene for me.

Another vote for the farewall scene here - it was the end of an era.

I'm voting for the conference, purely for the part at the end with Kirk and Spock.

Yeah, the farewell scene: "If I were human, I believe my response would be: 'go to hell'...if I were human." Of course, everyone smiled at that. Let Jim have one last defiant act in HIS starship. He deserved it.
