Best Trek Movie Moment 5: The Final Frontier
Star Trek V's turn.
I'm going to say the campfire scenes between Kirk, Spock, and McCoy. I think it nicely emphasizes their relationship.

Got to be the part with the campfire scene/Sulu and Chekov getting lost. They can navigate and fly a ship around the galaxy but when it comes to finding their way around earth it's a different story. "Look Sulu, the sun has come out. It's a miracle." My favorite attempt at sticking to the cover story.
I seem to be a week behind still, I just today watched The Voyage Home.
I'd have to go with the Camp Fire scene, proof that even the worst of Trek has its great moments.
Other notable scenes are Kirks Plan B (Death must really be aching to get his hands on him by now), and Spocks convincing the Klingon Ambassador to help Kirk. I just love the way he delivers the line "Damn you sir, you will try"

Psst... It was Yosimite, not Yellowstone.Captain Seafort wrote:I'm going for the Yellowstone stuff as well...
Mostly because I only have ten slots to work with. Why did you lump it in with "deck 89" and the Sybok nonsense?
Also, "Sybok Nonsense", as you call it, also includes Kirk's own speech about how much he needs his pain.

Call me mean spirited, but to me the word "Best" shouldn't be used in any regard to this movie. The whole thing was crap.

Not quite - the plot was crap, and the key elements were crap, but some of the individual scenes (Yosmite, Scotty's jailbreak, etc) were very good.Tiberius wrote:Call me mean spirited, but to me the word "Best" shouldn't be used in any regard to this movie. The whole thing was crap.
Only two things are infinite - the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the universe: Albert Einstein.
The Yosemite stuff was good? Did you miss the goodnight scene?
Goodnight Spock.
Goodnight Jim.
Goodnight Bones.
Goodnight Jim.
Goodnight Spock.
Goodnight doctor.
And the jailbreak was worse. too much of the movie was played for comedy. The jailbreak was just the old gag, "Let's tell them we are about to do something and then laugh when we don't warn them in time."
ST5 wasn't Trek. It was a parody. They just got the actual cast, and somehow got Paramount to approve it.

It was just silliness, that's what. Everyone saying goodnight to everyone else in every single possible permutation.
