Somebody clearly needs to go camping. I voted for the complaining to at least give it a little credit. I'll lump that in with Kirks.
"I miss my old chair..." For some reason I enjoyed that.
But really the camping scene is what really sets that movie apart from a long episode.
Best Trek Movie Moment 5: The Final Frontier
Followed instantly by Spock's "Aw, poor baby" look.

Star Trek meets the Waltons! But I also went with the campfire scene. "Bourbon and beans, an explosive combination!" Oh, boy, don't get me started!Varthikes wrote:What was wrong with that?Tiberius wrote:The Yosemite stuff was good? Did you miss the goodnight scene?
Goodnight Spock.
Goodnight Jim.
Goodnight Bones.
Goodnight Jim.
Goodnight Spock.
Goodnight doctor.

What's wrong with a little bit of silliness? Star Trek doesn't need to be serious all the time.Tiberius wrote:It was just silliness, that's what. Everyone saying goodnight to everyone else in every single possible permutation.
And, to see these people just relaxing after all the times they've save the planet, the galaxy, the Universe...

My problem is that it was out of character. Can you imagine the same scene on the bridge, saying Good Morning at the beginning of a shift?
Good morning Jim.
Good morning Spock.
Bridge to Sickbay. Good morning bones.
Good morning Jim.
Good morning Doctor.
Good morning Spock. Channel closed.
What would the crew think? it's completely out of character. And don't get me started on Scotty banging his head on a ship he knew like the back of his hand.

Well they'd be on duty and wouldn't go out of their way to say it, but I imagine they would still say good morning to each other if they ran into each other. Officers are people too. And they were on vacation, and people act very different on vacation then they do at work.Tiberius wrote:My problem is that it was out of character.
