Yeah one of the themes latter on is magic is coming back into the world and getting stronger again. Right now people dont understand how and why but it does become clearer to a degree.

It's a medieval soap opera.

Me neither. But then again I haven't seen too many soap operas before.

You know what is popular and people tried to get me to watch it but found it to not my taste but never said anything about it? Tru Blood.

I watched it off and on for the first season since I though it was an interesting take on the genre, then it just got weird bringing in all sorts of paranormal stuff.

I tried myself. Really did try. Even spent money on the Blu Rays to watch it. But I never could get into it.

But I would never call it the most boring and overrated show though.

Since when did soap operas have a bunch of people fighting over a throne with the original family isolated in another land with baby dragons and up North there are white blue eyed zombies?

Because please point out those soap operas?

Yes, I'd like to know what makes this a soap opera. Any more than other shows. Even a over the top show like Spartacus is like that.

I guess for that we would need to define what makes a show a "soap opera". Boring plotlines that are based more on who is sleeping with whom, rather than plots based on actual story...? Check.

So who is sleeping with whom? So a single relationship which involves incest which invalidates the heir to the throne makes this a soap opera? Can't have relationships in a series now can we without it being a soap opera?

Well, I do admit that I have no idea what has been going on in the story lately. The last image of the show that I saw was the smoke baby cominog out of the witch lady's va-hu-hu. So anything that happened after that...

Yes, I'd like to know what makes this a soap opera. Any more than other shows. Even a over the top show like Spartacus is like that.

Multiple storylines that are relatively unconnected that are spread across many episodes dealing with character interactions.

And did those blue eyed zombies ever show up beyond the first five minutes of the first episode?

Decidedly yes.
I'm just starting on season 3 as it shows. Still liking it so far.

So... the first scene of the first episode... then two years later... just adding gas to the fire of how bad this show is.
