"V" 2011

Well done opener, IMHO. The show brought up enough new points to sustain a new season when the first was never intended to continue, while managing to avoid feeling disconnected from the first season. Most importantly, it respected the long real-time gap from the end of the first season until now - I never felt like I had to go re-watch a last season ep in order to follow the new one.

Plus,
"Hello, mother." Only time will tell if Jane Badler's appearance is a tie-in to "The Final Battle" or just a nod to it, but wither way it was nice.

Plus, of course, Laura Vandervoort in her skivvies. Nothing wrong with that.

I still don't trust that pesky reporter.

Neither do I, but what are you gonna do? The gang sort of needs him now.

Like he said, we got Laura Vandervoort in a very fetching match set of bra and boyshorts.

And apparently her mom likes to watch.

When Anna's tail popped out the first thing I said to my wife was, "Tyler might want to ask Lisa if she ever gets freaky with that thing." Got me elbowed.

Hmm. My wife asked me if Anna was gonna get freaky with one of the captains using her tail.

When I saw the point on the thing I sort of figured that exactly what happened was going to happen.

Me too, but wifey hasn't really followed S1, and didn't remember "The Final Battle" at all.

*EDIT* Interesting note: it will, apparently, take a bit more than a reptilian, lethally-pointed, prehensile tail to make Morena Baccarin unattractive.

Ep 2:

Mostly transitional, IMHO, and a bit too metaphysical for my taste. I may have to give up if they
actually find a physical repository of the soul somehwere in the pineal gland.
However, we are left with some good things: sympathy for Ryan's situation, and a great big question mark about what he will do - likewise, what will happen with the Malick situation?

Also, I was excited to hear that the ex-Mossad agent will be played by
Oded Fehr.
BTW, even though ABC has pulled them from its own site and from Hulu, current full eps are available on active-tivi.com.

So, I just started watching season one courtasy of netflix and after four episodes I'm still ambivilant. There is like no action compared to the original series. No laser fights, no shuttle dogfights, no rescues. Nothing.

I hope it picks up.
