Same here. I've got most of the shows I want on DVD now. Heck, I could probably get rid of cable entirely and not really miss it.

Now, Dexter I can relate too
I've never seen them either, including Dexter.

Dexter is worth a watch Ian. Trust me on this. I have yet to steer anyone towards that show that DOESN'T like it.

They look like Phyllis Diller,

The few episodes I caught were great.

The last new show I wanted to watch was Boardwalk Empire, but I couldn't - it was up against Sunday Night Football.

I watched the first few episodes of Lost and it started even then to be clear that whilst they claimed they had it all planned out in advance... actually they were just pretty much making it up as they went along. I stopped bothering after that.

From what I've heard, if I had stayed to the end I'd have been incredibly disappointed.

The last couple episodes were what really sucked. They made the entire last season totally pointless.

To each their own, I suppose. :)

Why isn't Jack Bauer dead? After, what, 7 series of being up 24 hours a day he should be dead of exhaustion. It was a hell of a week from what I hear though.

The days (seasons/series) were separated by as much as 3 years at one point; the shortest was 6 months, IIRC. And it was 8.

I have an image of Jack with his mate in the pub. "Hey, remember that day last year?" "What day?" "The day you were kidnapped and drugged, and then you escaped, and I found a Russian mole in the agency, but he framed me, and I went on the run, and then we bumped into one another, and they assumed you were a bad guy too, and they came after us both, and then the President got shot, and I thought there was a huge conspiracy at work and it turned out..."

"Oh, THAT day..."

"...and then the Korean agents turned up and shot me in the leg, and then..."

"The day your daughter got kidnapped"
"You'll have to narrow it down a bit"
"CTU was ironically attacked by terrorists"
"Sorry, doesn't help much"
"you tortured that dude"
"er,,,"
"You got laid"
"ah, THAT day"
"You ain't gonna get off down the trail a mile or two, and go missing your wife or something, like our last cook done, are you?"
"My wife is in hell, where I sent her. She could make good biscuits, but her behavior was terrible."
