I know, what I meant is that he probably got very rusty without a sparring partner the last few decades.
How many Minbari does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
None. They always surrender right before they finish the job and never tell you why.

Not having a sparring partner of his own caliber doesn't mean he can't train or retain his abilities. It just means he'd have to work harder at pushing himself. A task I don't see him having to much trouble with.

Mitchell with his Sodan training was a pretty decent sparring partner, I'd say.

I go with Teal'c. Not a curbstomp, but he wins against Ronin.

He only spent a day or two training with them. The best training Mitchell got would have been his sparring with Teal'c.

Ok....I saw the Teal'c v Ronin sparring match. No definitive edge visible, and Carter decided to stop it at just an hour. I'm going to call this one for Teal'c. He has the power, strength, speed, skill, AND experience. Although, I'll bet he'd be missing "junior" and its healing abilities after the fight

General Landry (on the subject of interrogating the captured Sodan): "This is going nowhere. Two weeks and he hasn't given us so much as a decent haiku..."

After that, it was at least another week before they found Mitchell.

You ever wonder why nobody ever seems to need to shave or get a haircut after being MIA for extended periods of time?

Ah. Though to be fair. Three weeks of combat instruction gets you to the point where you wont trip every time you take a step against someone. Not much further.

I'll never forget hand to hand DAY is basic. The Drill Sergeant told us "by the end of the day you'll know just enough to get your ass kicked in a bar!"

Hand to hand training takes time

I think the problem is that so many people get used to seeing these fights on TV were people can get punched fifty times and be okay a day later.

Real life, that shit fucking hurts!
