You're President when the Gate is activated...

Thats because they never seemed to be able to hit anything. However, the Staff weapons caused very little scarring against the walls of SGC so maybe a good armour will protect an IFV.

I guess a more circular IFV could be designed to fit through the gate if you wanted to which would certainly pose a problem for the Jaffa. However, the Staff Weapons might be more accurate and effective against a larger target.

You can fit an early LAV through the gate, given that a couple men can walk in abreast. I don't think a staff weapon will do squat against it, especially if you slap on the add on ceramic armour. Besides the increased mobility and cargo capacity of one would outweigh the negatives.

They invented protective vests for SG personnel. Though I haven't seen them use it since they invented it :P
How many Minbari does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
None. They always surrender right before they finish the job and never tell you why.

They added them to the standard body armor that SG teams wear. Which I guess is why people later in the show get hit and live.

Staff weapons are pretty unimpressive in terms of firepower. All flash, no bang. I'd say an armoured vehicle could survive a hit, given that trees can take blasts.

The flash and no bang would be consistent with the fear mentality. Naturally we fear a brighter and more obviously energetic object, than something which is more discreet.

Hell, if all else just use a layer of concrete for armor. Scrub the scorch marks off later if they really bother you.
