It saddens me that I understand this reference.

In any event, I'm still trying to figure out exactly what is accomplished by remaking this. Certainly nothing of any substance or quality seems to be altered from, or added to, the first film version.

I liked the book, though I felt the ending was a letdown as is sometimes the case with King books, but I've never actually seen the original adaption of it. I'm happy to go see this and give it a chance.
