So the other week they announced that Spielberg is going to make yet another Indiana Jones movie - with Harrison Ford.
Now the latest -
The Hollywood Reporter’s Friday exclusive indicates that Steven Spielberg and Disney have hired longtime Spielberg collaborator David Koepp to script Harrison Ford’s fourth sequel to “Raiders of the Lost Ark.”
You may know Koepp as... the man who wrote The Crystal Skull.

"All this has happened before --"
"But it doesn't have to happen again. Not if we make up our minds to change. Take a different path. Right here, right now."
The writing of the Crystal Skull was atrocious, and Ford shouldn't be doing this any longer. To have him play Indy at this point would be as depressingly iconoclastic as having someone else play Indy. If a fifth Jones movie absolutely had to be, then the way to go would have been to find someone decent to play Mutt and have him pick up his dad's mantle. That way, Ford could have been in it in a meaningful yet appropriate way.

At best it should be something like the way they handled Indy III, only with Indiana in the Sean Connery role and somebody else in the action star role. Harrison looks great for his age, to be sure, but he'd look ridiculous getting into fistfights and swinging across ravines. Hell, just reboot the damn thing with somebody else in the role. Only they won't do that because "Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones" is the only real selling point the movies have.
If they really felt there was more to do with these movies they should have been doing it 15 or 20 years ago.

Exactly what I meant. Better yet, just stop. There has got to be someone in existence with a novel idea for a film. I love the "Indy" franchise, but there is no need for further films.
