BTW, great interview with the cast on "Conan" tonight. They looked like they really enjoyed embracing the comic stories, as well as working with each other. Except Leto, I guess, who in an article I noticed was said to dive into such a "method" mode of acting that he actually isolated himself from the rest of the case throughout filming.

Without being too spoilery, there is a plot element in the comic that explains that.

So reviews are coming in and apparently it's just ok.

I wonder if the reshooting made it better or worse?

Regarding the reviews... I think it's eminently possible that since this movie has widely been regarded since it was cast and storyboarded as the film that will put DC on par with the MCU/kick off a new reign of DC television and film success/end global warming and bring water to the desert, perhaps the reviews are judging it against too high a standard and panning it for being "just" really good.

Of course, it's possible that it is just OK, too.

Well the main point of negativity is the villan which I can totally see. From what I see it is a weak character.

So apparently this version of the movie was in part edited by a company that makes movie trailers... So that goes a long way to explaining why some people are saying it feels muddied and rushed.

I bet the directors original cut is the better version.

Watched it last night, and the plot is fairly basic. The Suicide Squad (SS) is organized, they get to show off their capabilities, and are sent into a city where a living WMD is cutting loose. Their job is to get one person out of the city, in exchange for clemency.

Fairly straightforward, and Amanda Waller is ruthless in her job as organizer and control of the Suicide Squad. (Croc liked her)

Cute comment about capture the Flagg.

The only concern I have is how they are going to top what happened in this movie for Suicide Squad 2.


There is a stinger after the fancy credits, but that is the only one.

My puzzlement about the film is this : the trailer says the rationale for the SS is that somebody like Superman could have ripped the roof off the White House and abducted the President, and "who would stop him?"

So... the squad consists of an insane woman who hits people with baseball bats, a guy who shoots people, a guy who throws boomerangs at people, a guy who looks like a lizard...

So, just what exactly would these people be doing to stop Superman from ripping the roof off the White House?

To be honest it would be a very short list. Wonder Woman is offhand in the cinematic universe that could stop him.
