Actually you can salute whoever and whatever you want. There are requirements to automatically salute certain types of people and of course the flag.

I guess the marine was being a little gung-ho.

:? Where did that originate, and what's the logic in the US behind who (or what) is and isn't saluted? Over here, you salute the Queen's Commission.

Salute in the US is meant as a sign of respect. Usually you salute the rank, not the person. You salute the flag not the government, the position of the government. The Medal of Honor I believe is the highest ranking there is, meaning everyone including the POTUS salutes the living recipient. I might be fuzzy on that though.

Do not get me wrong though, you will not see an enlisted man saluting another in broad daylight as they pass each other. Unless they are joking with each other of course.

So the enemy doesn't know who to shoot.

Lots of joke about officers out in the field being useless here and not having one is an improvement.

Anyhoo, I went on YouTube and listened to many Godzilla roars and it seems to me the new one is more or less the same.

On the other hand I want to watch the original 1954 version again.
I've seen Gojira and Godzilla. They're both pretty good. Godzilla changes little of Gojira itself.

The difference with the roar is the end, second half. All of the older variations it up-turns at the end... this version turns into a low foghorn like sound. the beginnings of the roars are very close.

That shot during the jump when they are between the cloud cover and the dust around the city is great. There are so many awesome shots. I still get a shiver at the Godzilla roar.

I want Godzilla bullet and missile proof. I hated the 1998 version where he could get injured by missiles.

Possible look at what Godzilla looks like through a toy version. To protect from spoilers I am just posting the link.
