Not at all. Just odd for the character and the setting of the movie. Especially the second time when the tower was all smashed up and debris was still all over the place.Sonic Glitch wrote:Is that a bad thing?Jim wrote:I actaully do have a side question... Gwyneth Paltrow's character is in it basically twice (plus the quick shot on the plane) but active twice... both times she is wearing Daisy-Dukes and no shoes... I thought that was rather odd... any thoughts?

Okay, just got back from seeing it.... a rush and a half. Very well-done, there. I am most impressed.

Re: The Avengers 2012
The Chemist and I watched this today. Unlike Thor, Tron Legacy, and Inception there wasn't anything in this movie that needed a cinema to convey material to you. The credits epilogue was completely boring.
I went in with low expectations and even they were not met during the first third of the movie. We really considered walking out when they said asteroid Iridium makes anti-protons. It was terrible. I don't think anyone involved in the script writing has a grasp of momentum. The second third of the movie was pretty good plot wise. The final third of the movie didn't have much in the way of script, mostly just fist fights and cgi.
The audience erupted into laughter several times, mostly about the Hulk. I think it is a toss up between Mark Rufallo and Robert Downey Jr. on who had the best character this movie. Oh Tom Hiddleston did a pretty good job too. I think Thor may be the dumbest person of the main cast, and that includes the Hulk version of Bruce Banner.

I must ask, if you didn't expect much, why did you bother to pay for it in the first place?

Re: The Avengers 2012
I saw it with the GF, and we both loved it...
Mark Ruffalo did a great job as Banner, and I felt he fit better with the cast than Ed Norton would have...
I liked his interpretation of Banner better too, even though I think Norton is a very good actor...
Seeing Cap become the team leader we all know and love, despite being on the low-end power-wise, was really nice...
I will definitely buy this movie, full price, as soon as it comes out, that's how much i liked it...

Yeah, Ruffalo was awesome as banner. And I loved Stark offering him a job and their interaction.

Re: The Avengers 2012
Saw the film and it's hard to say enough good about it. The beginning of the film focused well on character setup. I liked that they left no one out of the films start up. The mid-film character conflicts were greatly employed to put the human spin on the superheroes. The end battle coordination between everyone promised everyone screen time without having to handwave the situations.
10/10, Joss scores another great film.

Yeah, everyone shinned and everyone showed faults. The characters were really well mastered for the film.

"Shinned"?

Laptop died, using iPod now. Random auto typing on small screen with my big hands just doesn't like to work.
