Re: The Avengers 2012
Was I the only one who, after reading the thread title, was waiting to see who was recast as the new Steed and Peel?

He's definitely bringing more personality to the table than most of them.
Re: The Avengers 2012
Too bad Norton isn't going to be the Hulk in this.

Not sure. He was in for a while (you can see him in the trailer after Captain America), but something changed. Most people are claiming disagreements with the director, but I haven't found anything trustworthy.

Re: The Avengers 2012
I was sad to see him recast too, he made an awesome Hulk because of how non-intimidating he was.
I agree Striker, although, depending on who it is they use for the villain, the others could easily take it over as well, especially if they do use Loki as the villain.

Re: The Avengers 2012
The studio claimed they wanted an actor who would "work well in an ensemble cast", whatever the fuck that means. Norton was apparently hands on with The Incredible Hulk, even rewriting parts of the script himself and ad-libbing some dialogue.Tyyr wrote:I liked his Hulk. What happened there?
I guess basically, they just wanted an actor who would shut up and do what he's told.

Whoever they got, I'd shut up and do what I was told for half of what they're paying him.

Re: The Avengers 2012
He agreed to take a drastic pay cut to appear in The Avengers, and fought hard to stay on, from what I've read. You want actors who are intimately familiar with the source material (Norton was), and invested in the character (also, check). Add the fact that Ed Norton is twice the actor Mark Ruffalo is (IMO), and it just doesn't make sense.
My guess is it's some personal beef with a producer, or something like that.

Re: The Avengers 2012
That's... weird. The guy who cares enough about the movie to try and tweak things and knows the material is the guy I want. I like Mark Ruffalo but... I dunno. Outside of Hulk form he's going to be completely blending into the scenery. I can see Ed Norton holding his own with Downey but Ruffalo? Then again Ruffalo had what, one 2 second scene in the trailer?

Re: The Avengers 2012
I'm starting to wonder is Loki really the big bad guy, maybe he's the first threat but something else comes along. The first thing they combine for but another big bad comes along?
But I can't throw, I throw like a geek!
