Only contact I've had with any part of NC is passing through by train or over by air, on the way to Orlando, Fla. I do have more direct contact with a new pair of glasses though. Aside from a slightly tweaked prescription for specs my eye exam of last Friday came up clean. I'm checked once a year for diabetic retinopathy, with no signs of trouble yet.

I'm officially headed to North Carolina (Raleigh) next year for graduate school. I've still got a lot of work to do between now and then, including making sure I pass all of my finals next week so I can graduate. Assuming that goes well I'll basically be taking the summer off. One of my older classmates and his wife just bought a house so I've volunteered my services to helping repaint, carpeting, etc.

I'm looking forward to having a summer mostly just to myself, I've spent every summer since my freshman year doing some kind of schooling or research on top of my summer job at the time.

So anyone on here from the Raleigh area?
Congrats on the progress and good luck though.

Not from there, been there though. Nice place. We work with DCRI (a medical research part of Duke uni).

It was a nice, low-key mother's day. Worked most of it, but had a little present for her. Her birthday's on the 25th of April, so it's a little funny sometimes. ;) :D

That is the same as my brother's and his son.

Thanks guys. 1) Things are like always - they could be better, but they could be worse. 2) Wow, thanks for the party. I should tell you that while I'm down-to-the-bone bourbon drinker, I discovered Bacardi Apple the other day. Over rocks, it's like candy in a glass.

Coincidentally, it appears that the Necronomicon has been found at Harvard. OK, maybe not, but you don't see that every day.

Starting plot for another National Treasure movie.
What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.
