I rather miss Granitehewer (though I've admittedly not spoken to him since about April of 2010) and I'm just curious what ever became of Chakat post-ban. If I recall, he was pretty young and immature - wonder what 9 years did for the man (cat).
He did actually come back about six months or so after the ban, under a different name. It became obvious within a few days that it was him because his posting style was exactly the same, so we banned him again. He emailed me afterwards to apologise.

I have to hope he's a rather more mature person these days. Be sad if he isn't.

Pete’s doing well. IDK about the other two.

In other news, guess who made it out of the hospital without going tits-up again?

BTW, if Seafort’s reading... why does the Household Cavalry use the term “corporal of horse” instead of “sergeant,” and why are they the only regiment to do so?

Because the rank of Sergeant derives from "servant", and historically even Household Cavalry troopers (i.e. privates) were from the gentry.

For me, anyway... but I guess there’s a few who wouldn’t mind dancing on my grave.

I appreciate it, bro-fessor, but I’m from Jersey... we know how to deal with *ahem* dissenting opinions.

A) It’s not our fault nobody else knows how to make a left by turning right, like normal people.
B) I didn’t say I was from D.C.

It's snowing in Oxford and for once it's settled. Now, this is UK snow, you know the kind of stuff that after 3 hours has given us about 4" and gridlock. We don't cope with this sort of thing well.

I once told a girl I was going to give her 4" and gridlock. She didn't cope with that sort of thing well...

Various "A Christmas Carol" movies made me think the U.K. is a wintery wonderland.
