new shift at work, starting an hour early at 5 AM. It's a bit weird starting before the store even opens.

Hmm. I start before the store opens every day. Normally it's because I'm the guy getting it ready to open, occassionally it's because we have mch more efficient stocking or merchandising hours when the store isn't thronged with sheeple the daily asshats customers.

Car passed inspection. Also got snow tires with studs attached. So glad that little thing's taken care of.

We should have a mild winter now. Thanks!

Home from the hospital. I went in (by all accounts) Monday evening after a seizure following a dramatic blood glucose fluctuation, and subsequent unconsciousness/cranial trauma. Still have a few staples in the back of my head, but I checked out neurologically and BP and blood glucose have held steady enough to let me come home.

Had a nice, quiet birthday yesterday. Dad and stepmother took me out for lunch and I got a new Lego set. :D

Geez, glad you seem to have come out OK!

I had an aunt who we suspect had something similar happen, except she was standing on a pontoon boat trailer at the time, putting another yard or so between the back of her head and the ground.

...which was too much. :(

Sorry to hear that. Apparently the edge of a register counter came between the back of my head and the ground. Well, the staples are out now and while the blood glucose seems to be steadier, the blood pressure is kind of wonky.

Not surprised about the blood pressure, given what you've been through. It must be quite really stressful which will have an affect. Hopefully it will settle down soon. :worried:

Glad you're okay Mikey, sorry you had to go through that.

Not the first time. The blood pressure issue isn't surprising considering that among my other issues I have what's known as "essential hypertension" - as it was explained to me, "essential" is doctor-speak for "you've got it but we can't really define the cause." So, even after being down for a day and a half, and on my regular meds, they still had to paint me with a little nitro.

Of course, subsequently on Sunday my daughter broke the scaphoid bone in her wrist... then today my wife took a trunk (boot) decklid to the cranium and hit the deck fior a coupleof minutes. We're not having a good couple of weeks for ER visits.
