Ready for pre-counts, or ready for the work-release furlough program that passes for RGIS or WIS?

Ours was this week. Thank God I was off that day.

Hola. You can see by my new av that I'm counting down until Friday... until I realized that we've got baseball practice Friday, softball practice and my nephew's beach volleyball tourney Saturday, and my new nephew's baptism Sunday. I'm seriously considering keeping my daughter home from school Monday just to see it.

Parents just spent $7,000 on their Irish Setter Molly. Originally she went in because she had blood in her poop. Turns out she had a whole host of problems, she very anemic, tumors on her intestines, liver, kidneys. All were small enough to be removed though the ones on her intestines were actually serious.

She is nine and for a while we all noticed she was slowing way down and very lazy. In hindsight we all should have thought something is wrong. Anyway three weeks later, she has the energy of her younger self and she is much more active.

Glad to hear she's doing better. It's so tough with dogs, because they can't express what's wrong. Just good luck you guys were attentive enough to catch it in time.

Speaking of dogs, my Siblings and I just brought my Dad a Dog to keep him walking and active. A cordoodle. A corgi, Poodle cross. Fantastic dog.

Now I drew the short straw and am installing one of those invisible fences to keep him on the property since two sides of the property are wide open and this is a lot easier than fencing it, just lay down 100m of wire and hook it on.
What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

I tried to convince my parents to let me install the invisible fence thing but they didn't like the idea of the dogs getting zapped.

I've never used one, having had a real fence since before we had a dog. My sister, however, has used one with three dogs and they've never had a problem. The dogs don't really get zapped much, because they tend to learn quick - in any event, the collars are set at a level not so much to inflict pain so much as a slightly unpleasant reminder. When my sister added on to her house, she actually laid some ivisible fence indoors to keep the dogs out of the new rooms and it's worked like a charm.

Well my parents lived in the same house for 27 years and every dog was tied to a tree for fresh air and to do their buisness. Then they were brought inside. It wasn't until the yellow Lab they have now that everyone noticed he never learned how to run when he was allowed to be free in a fenced in yard. Not a big deal though. He is a giant nine years old puppy anyway.
