2015 Rugby Union World Cup

Post by Captain Seafort »

Is anyone else keeping an eye on this? Decent first match for England - not great, and we need to improve if we want to beat the Aussies and the Welsh, but we got the job done despite a good performance from the Fijians.

The answer is "no." There are a sum total of 40,000 rugby fans in the world, and they just keep rotating from game to game.

Screw the video ref.
What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

More the first half than last, but he was far far to involved in the game.

They should be used as a matter of last resort, not to do a play by play. The first half was far to stop and start.

How is that his fault? It may not be ideal, but it meant the right decisions were made. Without the TMO the Fijians could easily have been down to 14 men permanently for a spear tackle very early on. Everything around the disallowed try was a mess, but it wasn't the TMO's fault, and ultimately it meant the correct outcome (albeit one that made very little difference as Fiji's try came about five minutes later.

It was the ref on the fields fault for calling on him.

That's how it's done. Twice in a row. World champs 2011 and 2015.

Given that it's Teaos doing the (justifiable) bragging, who do you think?

Well, I can't remember offhand where Teaos is from, and that's not necessarily an indicator of his loyalties team-wise.

Wait, New Zealand has sports aside from eel-fishing and sheep-diddling?
