Supposedly when he called up Nirvana for permission to do a spoof, Nirvana asked if it was about food.

Kurt Cobain was on record saying that he knew Nirvana had truly made it when Weird Al asked to spoof them.

After nine years, one of my favorite bands of all time has come back... with one song.

A Perfect Circle - By and Down.

Maynard kinda sucks these days; he just won't get back with APC, and the new TOOL album has taken forever because he wants to make wine at his vineyard and record the (also cool, but much less so) long string of Puscifer albums.

And one of the members of Devo said he had 'outdevoed Devo' in his Behind the Music special.

Here's one that caught me off guard: Sting feat. Robert Downey Jr.

I think it's a mixed bag overall, but the Nightmare before christmas cover album, Nightmare Revisited is worth a run through once imo.

Here's an old/weird one:

Pseudo Echo covers Funkytown.

I got no defense for loving this one. :D

Found this while wandering the net one day. Other versions call this white minimalist r&b. Not per se something I like, but fascinating nonetheless.

#1 - LOVE Belinda Carlisle.

#2 - the recent, er, shape of things in the "babes" thread reminded me of this track - bringing booty back.
I can't stand nothing dull
I got the high gloss luster
I'll massacre your ass as fast
