In William Gibson's
Neuromancer, the rogue AI Wintermute (hence the Sonniach Glic reference) was prevented from merging with his fellow AI Neuromancer - and thus defeating many safeguards protecting humanity from him - by mechanisms called Turing locks. I'm not positive, but I can only assume that Gibson got the name from Alan Turing.
"You fought with Captain Reynolds in the war?"
"I fought with a lot of people in the war."
"And your husband?"
"I fight with him sometimes, too."
