Delta Flyer Escape Pod
I'm new to the board, but not to Trek, so I'm hoping that I don't sound like an idiot for this. I have a question that I'm hoping one of you more technically minded folks can help me with. I've been studying the available schematics of the Delta Flyer, and for the life of me, I can't seem to figure out where they stash the escape pod. I have a rough idea of its size (I've even seen the schematics of it from the old Star Trek Magazine), but I just can't quite place where its berthed. Can anyone help me out? I'd appreciate hearing from you.

That's what I've always thought, being as it's the right size about.
And here we see exit hatch for the pod. It's labeled Aft Entry Hatch.

Welcome, Moonshadow. I'll forego the Cat Stevens jokes for now. Nick - wouldn't the hatch labelled "Aft Entry Hatch" be the... oh, IDK, the aft entry hatch?

It also says "Mission Module Hatch"... which might refer to the escape pod.Mikey wrote:Welcome, Moonshadow. I'll forego the Cat Stevens jokes for now. Nick - wouldn't the hatch labelled "Aft Entry Hatch" be the... oh, IDK, the aft entry hatch?
No trees were killed in transmission of this message. However, some electrons were mildly inconvenienced.
Re: Delta Flyer Escape Pod
Yeah, bout to say that, actually... Exactly that, but yeah, I say that's where it is, well, because there are no other places it could come out of...
Re: Delta Flyer Escape Pod
What I was curious about was the pod appeared rather big in relation to the Flyer, leading me to believe they could only carry the one (MAYBE two), but the the interior looked so small they could only get one person inside, and even he was cramped.
Wonder what they'd do in an emergency?

Well, considering the Voyager shuttle bay can't actually fit the ship does that surprise you?

They don't just beam it inside?

Re: Delta Flyer Escape Pod
No, you don't get it. It's actually bigger than the shuttle bay itself, not the entry, the whole thing...

Starfleet has obviously had some technical exchanges with the Time Lords. The TL got exploding consoles (as seen with the Tenth Doctor's regeneration) and Starfleet got dimensionally transcendental shuttle bays.

Maybe. The regenerated Tardis is pretty cool.

IDK, I have a hard time referring to an escape pod as a "Mission Module," unless of course the Flyer's mission is to get blown up.
OK, considering VOY's CO, maybe you're right...
