Voyager did have a bad habit of taking interesting TNG concepts and kill them:

Come to think of it, I guess I should say Voyager did have a habit of taking any insteresting concept and kill it... :P

Someone mentioned before that VOY is where potential went to die, I like to think that it's where ST was eventually buried myself.

Then by all rights we should have seen Thomas Riker become part of the crew somehow.
