This was the most moronic idea Janeway had, give the Borg the ability to assimilate a creature that can own everything without a second thought. So stupid.

Oh bugger me...

This is like the 7th time the whole "should Janeway have helped the Borg" debate has come up.

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

Does anyone wish that Tuvok would have just left Janeway on that planet with Chakotay?

Oh  Well, since I was on the forum I don't remember one, sorry bout that. I just watched the whole thing again, and it was really stupid. Chakotay was sadly the brightest one in that whole episode, thats pretty sad.

You are free to bring it up if you wish, but its not unanimous that it was a stupid decision.

The devil you know is better than the one you dont, especially if the one you dont wants to wipe out life in our universe.

I do like you, Teaos, just not that way...

Anyway...
Please, no more "8472's intentions" debates. Please?

*EDIT* Sorry, guys, that last bit shouldn't have been in green. That's a personal request, not an instruction. The last time we had that debate it became an amorphous, irresolute circle of nothingness.

I have to say, the bioship is an awesome design.

What have you done????

But if the one you don't know just wants to wipe out the race that attacked it first, then commiting an act of war would be pretty stupid.

Heartily seconded. Every time this debate comes up, it turns into an endless bitching match between the pro-8472 and anti-8472 factions on the board. We really don't need that again.

Put simply, some of us think there is evidence that 8472 only wanted to destroy the Borg, and had no interest in the wider galaxy. Others think that 8472 wanted to wipe out not just the Borg, but everything in the galaxy.
To date, this remains the only debate we've had that's never reached an agreeable conclusion.

Meh, I didn't think the design was particularly interesting. And I despise bio-tech in general, so that's a serious mark down for me.

Just curious, but why do you despise biotech.

Because in 99% of all occasions where it's used, it's fucking stupid.
We stopped using biotech for a reason. Proper tech is in almost all instances better than biotech.

But apperently their biotech was really good, the borg wanted it so bad, lol.

Mostly likely for one of two reasons:

1) to research a way to defeat 8472's natural invulnerability to Borg nanotech; or
2) to assimiliate it; i.e., mod it all up with good old-fashioned artificial tech.
