Message in a Bottle
Message in a Bottle
I think this is an amazing episode. Robert Picardo does incredible acting, and the whole idea is a pretty neat one.

Which idea?
Transporting him using an alien communication network.
The Mark II.

No trees were killed in transmission of this message. However, some electrons were mildly inconvenienced.
Re: Message in a Bottle
Using the network to send a holographic message to Starfleet, it was actually a smart idea. (They had one!)

Agreed. Andy Dick normally makes me want to variously shoot him or myself, but I thought he was perfect for the role. And Picardo was his usual solid self.

Yup, and it was all about him, which made it all the better. But it still had a stupid Neelix moment

I always liked the Prommy so this is a sweet episode. Nice plot and some good eye candy.

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

I just can't bring myself to like the Prommie. With as nice as the Prommie looks, its still just a wank ship in the end.

Yeah, to be more accurate I like the idea of the Prommy.

That's fair enough. However as is common with ST. Idea did not meet with the final product.

The episode was good, regardless of the Prommie, it was a pretty fantastic episode IMO.

Re: Message in a Bottle
True. The ep works whether or not you like the Prommie. Personally, I think the idea of MVAM can be a good one, but a ship like the Prommie isn't the right platform for it. Conversely, I'm all about the look of the Prommie, just without the MVAM.

As I'm sure I've made clear by now, I'm no fan of the Prommie, and certainly not the MVAM system.
That said, it was a good episode.
