A villain so good and complex - and so wonderfully acted - that the writers freaked out and wrote an entire episode designed to sabotage their own character, with the message "he really is eeeeeevil!"

Marc Alaimo was pretty aggravated by all accounts. You'd never know it from his performances, though. A real pro.
