An interesting concept for an episode but I think 8 out of 10 is high. I'd give it 6, it was a okay story but didn't grab me.

I really liked this one and how it was framed. I'm happy with the rating. The show could have used a lot more first contact stories and they could have framed a much more logical prime directive.

Meh, typical TNG, a good episode but not something I cared about.
What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

The only thing I didn't like about the episode was the 'I want to have sex with an alien' scene. Always cringeworthy to me.
