I don't know how I can make the message above any clearer: "[T]hat is not saying it is bad, that is not saying it shouldn't have been done." Structurally, this episode is composed entirely of what are normally subplots - that's something I don't think any Trek episode has ever done, and so for that reason, I don't think can be adequately compared. If you don't agree with that, that's fine, I just ask that any rebuttal be to what I actually say and not to things that I didn't.

I think chuck is just going to have to live with some heat on this one. Don't really see any way around it.

Oh well. He's a reviewer. And any reviewer is always going to say something that a lot of people will disagree with.
"You've all been selected for this mission because you each have a special skill. Professor Hawking, John Leslie, Phil Neville, the Wu-Tang Clan, Usher, the Sugar Puffs Monster and Daniel Day-Lewis! Welcome to Operation MindFuck!"

I honestly agree with him. You've got less a conventional episode and more like three subplots running together. It's not a bad episode but it's not one I leave the TV on the channel for.

This review makes me question his ability to honestly separate his ability to analyze from his desire to bash.

He did seem to reach on this one a lot. Along with the "its not trek" lines.

If you want to be reassured, go and watch his TWoK review again. That was his finest hour, without a shadow of a doubt.Mikey wrote:This review makes me question his ability to honestly separate his ability to analyze from his desire to bash.

I gotta agree, here. Yes, the TWOK review was great, but this one is just... he really was reaching, IMHO.Mikey wrote:This review makes me question his ability to honestly separate his ability to analyze from his desire to bash.
