This is NOT an official nomination, but I just wanted to share this.

If I'm watching TNG, and "The Inner Light" (title? Where Picard learns to play the flute) or "Darmok" come on, I WILL turn the channel.

Really? Any particular reason?

So, you dislike TNG's two best episodes, then?

"BEST" is a matter of interpritation.

The Inner Light to me is like watching a Kenny G concert for an hour in the dentist chair. It DRAGS for me. I'm an action kind of guy, and I am fond of subplots in an episode. This one had neither.

Darmok was just damned confusing. The phaser from the torpedo bay irritates me beyond what it should, and even though the UT cant translate their language, it still translates their gibberish into english. Those two points ruin the whole thing for me.

You know, Chuck Norris doesn't have a chin under his beard - just another fist.

I second the nomination of Masks!

Brent Spiner is a great actor, but the producers got to fond of the: "Let's let Data play multiple characters!"-idea.

But I nominate as worst TNG episode ever: "Force of Nature" (The show were the - soon forgotten - warp 5-limit was established). :bangwall:

See, they're both examples of the best of Trek to me, episodes that make you think.

Inner Light was a classic sci-fi short story brought into Trek. Darmok was about learning to work someone and building bridges even when you can't talk it out. You can still build bridges of common ground.

Now I will point out that in the episode they specifically state that the UT is translating the language perfectly fine. The problem is that they speak entirely in metaphor so there's a layer of meaning that the UT can't handle. Now I will freely admit that I think Darmok is a great example of an absolutely stupid premise as you can tell my the way I've questioned the stupid language a couple times. Their metaphor language makes no sense in any logical context which is a big strike against the episode but everything else around it is great to me.

I will agree on Masks though, I hated that episode.
