Apart from mispronouncing his name I don't think she was more mean to him than - let's say - the guy who wanted to disassemble him just so he could study the parts a bit.

I am just saying that compared to a Season 1 Crusher she was much much better. From Season 3 onward Crusher got also better but Polaski unfortunatly never had the chance to develop the character. Hell, maybe she would have even got another hairstyle in season 3

Right - the problem certainly wasn't the performance, it was the material (or lack thereof) with which Muldaur was given to work.

Indeed. The problem was just that the character really lacked any....well, character.

Maybe with another season she would have outgrown her 2 dimensional character. After all, the other characters went through the same growing pains in season 1. But, MILF McFadden was a sight for sore eyes anyway.

Pulaski wasn't given time to grow, so all I['ve got to go by her is being a condescending jerkhole. And not only mispronouncing Data's name, but being pretty mean to him in the beginning of 'Elementary, My Dear Data'. She was Bones... without the empathy and humanity.

I somewhat disagree. She's empathetic in many situations (think Worf's Klingon measles, Picards heart) and quit willing to sacrifice herself such as the situation with the aging virus.

She was empathetic, as any good doctor must be. I think the point was that she wasn't a sympathetic character - from the POV of the audience.
