In addition, transport at high speed was shown to be a tricky affair.

I was talking about the ships getting refueled, not about fitting a GCS to be a tender.
Ok. I thought we still on the subject of the Galaxy class being able to refuel other ships, not the general refueling aspect... :?

In the beginning, but I seem to recall them solving this in later TNG seasons and never get mentioned again in DS9.
And what speeds are considred "High Speed"?
If it's Warp 8 and up, then simply go down to Warp 6 or 7...
The truth always depends on which side of the fence you're standing... ;)

It was certainly done in TNG, but shown to be more involved than a basic transport. I don't recall one instance of the situation being mentioned in DS9. And any difference in the velocity vectors of ships travelling at a significant fraction of "c" would be high speed.

I am not really a newcomer, just to here. I have posted in the Flare and TrekBBS forums. I haven't posted anything in Flare in a good 6 years and TrekBBs in well over a year.
You are however new to conflicts based out in space.

So are all of us, unless you just got back from combating evil aliens from Planet X?

We have however worked out a great deal of items to balance things between the facts available and the actions used planet side.

What makes you think I haven't? I use real world examples as an example. Does not mean I think space battles are fought like that.

I understand it just fine.

Just stopping makes no sense to me. Stopping a ship in the middle of space is just as dangerous as stopping a ship in the middle of the Atlantic in the middle of WW2.

You don't have to stop the ships. Thats what you're not understanding. If the ships are moving at the same speed in space its the same as them not moving at all. They can resupply with ease without trouble and stay on the move.

I must of misread or skipped that post you made because I was basing my entire argument on the ships would be stopped.

I don't think anyone suggested they would come to a stop as in not moving. I think they meant stop relative to the GCS.

I just went through the past two pages, and I probably misread Deepcrush's post.
