In your opinion, what was the strongest season of TNG?
Re: In your opinion, what was the strongest season of TNG?
Yep, me too. Then the previews for that new show TNG came out. Everybody was sure it would flop.

Yeah, they had some captain who was a Frenchman with a British accent, who NEVER took off his shirt.

We all thought Denise Crosby was the new Captain just from the previews.
When it premiered we all wondered who the old fart was. He was literally twice Kirk's age.

It almost did. From what I gather it was in danger of being canned at the end of Season 2, I'd be willing to bet that if it aired now it wouldn't have made it past the halfway mark of the first season.Mark wrote:Yep, me too. Based on the quality of season 1, it would have deserved it.Cpl Kendall wrote:I'd be willing to bet that if it aired now it wouldn't have made it past the halfway mark of the first season.

Indeed. Hell I can think of at least two episodes that would likely result in protests.Captain Seafort wrote: Based on the quality of season 1, it would have deserved it.

Wasn't one episode banned in Britain for something?

I think the episode where a united Ireland is mentioned in passing isn't shown.Rochey wrote:Wasn't one episode banned in Britain for something?

That's the one I was thinking of.

I thought that was the exploding hamburger head one, the one that got banned.

Conspiracy was only edited, The High Ground was banned outright. Given that it was produced in 1990, at the height of the Troubles, predicting Irish unification as a direct result of the IRA's campaign was not at all popular.

What sucks? That we didn't see the ep, or that we went through 30 odd years of terrorist bombings?

Both. I mean, random killings of innocent civilians is bad enough, but being denied an episode is outrageous.
