Speaking of consistent, you can at least say Pulaski was. It's not like she was as flaky with things as Janeway, etc.

She was quite the pessimistic grumpy old woman. Predictable, yet annoying all the same.

I didn't have a problem with Pulaski. She just wasn't as much fun as Crusher.

Glad to see we agree on something. :)

Seriously, everyone got along a little too well during the first season and it was nice to see a little conflict. That was one of the things DS9 excelled at, generating realistic antagonisms between characters (Dukat/Kira, Dukat/Sisko, Sisko/Kira, Odo/Quark, Kira/Bashir). A pity they forgot all those lessons with Voyager. :/

the only VOY vestiges of conflict were B'Elanna and various people. and the occasional Chakotay/Janeway.

Thats why i liked B'Elanna.

Torres didn't get into conflicts with people because it was good or made sense, she got into them because the writers figured Klingon = aggresive.

Torres was just PMSing the whole time, she had no reason to be annoyed at other like DS9 managed to pull off.

Well, at least the Doctor was a pain in the butt and pi$$ed off the crew. Not as bad as he should have, but still.

But nobody really called him on it.

7o9 was a b*tch, and they just wrote it off to the whole "newly human" bit and the (non-human) doctor give her Eliza Doolittle lessons. They should have had a friggin' Torres v. Seven catfight, dammit!

One of the greatest scenes in Voyager (dare I say, all of Star Trek) was that magnificent opening sequence in Good Shepherd where it begins in Janeway's ready room and you follow various people to the lowest deck as her orders are carried out. Torres says to someone who is on an errand from 7 of 9 "What does the Borg Queen want now?" or something to that effect. Priceless. Good episode, and the character Celes Tal actually appeared in later episodes.

Did Seven have an honourary rank? Could she order around an ensign? Or anyone for that matter?

If she told you to do something, would you argue with her?
