What does defeat mean to you?
Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

He indicates that they were fed ships of some sort, possibly civilianized. But not proper fighters. More like strapping weapons on your truck.stitch626 wrote:Was the ship used by the Maquis ever a fed fighter?
In cannon the Maquis use a "courier ship" Federation design like a fighter.
It has been theorized that this courier ship design was evolved into the Peregrine we see fighting in DS9 in order to be a cheap and easy way to add to the force.

That's as may be - I thought you/we were referring to the mis-identification of the Chakotay-style ship with the "peregrine"-type fighter. IIRC, Fact Files or some other publication actually once identified Wesley's academy trainer as on or the other, too.

Destoryer refers to many different ships. Same with battleship. It could be in the same spirit as that.
