TOS’s The Deadly years vs. TNG’s Unnatural Selection

Anyone else see a big comparison in plot? They are different in their respective story but the themes of both...

To be fair again, there are some pretty good things TOS did with it that would’ve been funny in TNG. Kirks memory going, the back and forth about McCoy “getting old”, the various ways it afflicted the various crew members. TNG just did the science team and polaski getting affected and it wasn’t funny to watch, just super serious.
