Actually no, I left 12+ inches for the hull above and below decks, and sized their diameter to be comfortably smaller than the outer skin - some feet smaller in many cases.

I do my homework on this stuff.
Are you saying that the hull of this ship is like the body of a car? Just the "metal" skin, not structure?
The hull of starfleet ships tends to be somewhat thin. Look at any window; the hull tends to be less than a foot thick.

And structural beams inside the hull are routinely within the rooms as part of them, in TOS and TNG. See below :

There is no way there are 4 decks in the saucer. 3 decks (plus bridge)
Dude... there's a picture of it right there. You can SEE it. Choose not to believe it, if you wish. I really can't do much more to convince you.

Would be a good argument for Star Trek armor...

Since I was one of those in that 5k to 6K people lnbardcan aircraft carrier, yes you can fit a lot of people in a very small space with only six showers and maybe 100x100 amount of space.

In fact the amount of space we saw on the Defiant is half the size of a commissioned officer and that of higher rank or position.

Now a more complex version, with photons and phasers, plus background engine noise and some camera movement. The camera movement actually came out a lot worse than I hoped for - I had been going for a gradual and subtle pan happening throughout the scene, but this has come out as a very fast and large jerky change. Live and learn...

Okay, made the camera movement much slower!

Not sure why, because it's such a minor detail (maybe that's why,) but it pleases me to no end that you remembered to animate the bussard collectors.

I actually didn't, at first, but it just didn't look right so I went back and re-rendered it!

Th design is good but something about the hull colour rubs me the wrong way. To be fair I am colour bling but it almost seems rusty.
What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

I suppose that "colour bling" is a sort of Gold colour ;)

If you play the video the ship isn't actually an orange/red colour, it only seems to be the poster frame (the still you see when it's not playing) that's wrong. Quite odd.

Youtube seems to use a very low-quality poorly coloured image for the still. Weird but there you go.
