Designing a New Daystrom Ship.

Post by Griffin »

Sorry If this in the wrong forum, if it is just give it the green boot.

I know a while ago you lot made the paladin class, and i wondered if anyone would like to make another ship.

I was thinking we could make another paladin era Starfleet ship, but we could have a vote on what its role would be, e.g hospital, science, battle etc.

Is anyone up for it?

---edit----
First Things First, Role, what's our ships role going to be, most of these should be self explanatory.

Science - a dedicated science vessel.

Explorer - a long range explorer.

Hospital/Medical - a ship dedicated to healing people.

Transporter - some kind of cargo transporter.

Troop Transport/Lander - ship to cart around troops and deploy them etc.

Battleship - like the Paladin etc

I--- Edit ----|

so, the poll says our new ship will be a hospital/medical ship. I'll put up a new topic soon.

I'm sure we'd all be interested. :)

Just add a poll for now. You can always edit the poll or add new stuff to it or the thread later.

Updated opening post and added poll.

I've gone for Hospital/medical, purely because I think it would be fun to design one.

I agree entirely, mainly because we Have only ever seen one of the type, The Olympic. While I love the Olympic class, I think there's room for a new updated hospital ship.

We've done a battleship already - now let's give the Feds a decent amphibious capability.

Fixed. Like the Tanith badge, BTW.

As for me, I voted for science - I'd like to see a UFP/SF science vessel with a little more independence and capability than what we've seen so far, which is nil.

Now, now. They've got some infantry. Largely incompetent light infantry, but infantry nonetheless.

Cheers. I first used it a while back, and can't remember where I got it from now.

They've already got decent science and exploration ships - it is, after all, their official raison d'etre. It's their military that is very poorly equipped, and therefore the most interesting to look at from a design perspective.

I would personally like a medical ship, because again, we have only seen one, and it could be really fun.

I'm going for hospital/medical for the same reason. We've only ever seen 1 and we have no idea it's capabilities. Surely we can come up with something?

I believe he is refering to science ships like the Oberth class. Sure they're long range explorers that go out past the final frontier and will have to deal with the unexpected at some point are decent enough, what we've seen referred to as pure "science" ships often leave something to be desired. I mean the Oberth was taken out in what, 1 shot from a BOP?
