Avatar trouble

Post by Mikey »

I've been having a bitch of a time uploading a new av. I've tried direct URL's and uploading from Photobucket - which had always worked in the past and is in fact the source of my current av - but now I just get "Avatar couldn't be uploaded" or "Must be less than 17k"... which it is. Any thoughts?

Is it also inside the size parameters?

Hmm. Have you tried 149x149?

If it helps your analysis, this is what appeared at the top of the screen when I gave it a go:

Code: Select all

[phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file /includes/functions_upload.php on line 835: tempnam(): open_basedir restriction in effect. File() is not within the allowed path(s): (/var/www/vhosts/ditl.org/httpdocs:/tmp)

*UPDATE* Still nothing. Is the option to enter a URL for an image still working, or do I have to save the pic to my HD and upload it from there?

I don't think either way will work. It doesn't have access to write to the required folder. Looking at it now.

No difference.

You know, this is a relatively minor concern. There's no real need for you to spend your time on this when I already have a perfectly serviceable avatar.

Try saving the file and uploading it from local storage.

That did it... but I'm using a "requisitioned" laptop right now, and might have personal files removed with little notice.
