Re: Speed Issues
Just been talking with the Hosting company and they now admit the our VPS does not have dedicated CPU resources. Which is very odd for a VPS. It means we are hostage to the other users of the system. So a long fight later we are now moving to a new service. This one has a dedicated CPU and Memory capability and so should be a lot more stable in terms of performance. It will take a little time to migrate so there will be some off time. It shouldn't be too long but I'll try and let you know when it will be. For safety reasons I will probably try and shut down the forum during the move. That way we will not loose any emails during the transition.

Yay! I personally am very glad to have am admin that cares so much about the community that he's formed, even though were very small in comparison to most of the others you still care enough to constantly find new servers, better server, more efficient ways of doing things. Means a lot to me at least that you care to do your best to ensure we have the best experience on the forum and website.

+2. Of course, I don't think it comes as a surprise that Ian is very attentive to the technical upkeep of the site.

Re: Speed Issues
If you guys keep going your going to need your second hand soon Anyway the server is ordered and is being prepared. Once built it will then require us to migrate the contents from one machine to the other. More info as it happens.

Re: Speed Issues
Awesome! I can't wait to see the speed difference as I'm sure it will be a large jump from a non-dedicated to a dedicated. What type of server are you upgrading to? Just curious being me and all.
Re: Speed Issues
I for one am grateful...I was honestly losing interest in the forum because it was taking so long. My boss kept catching me in the time it took a post to upload.

Re: Speed Issues
To be as cryptic as possible BST = DST / UK = GMT + 1. But to be kind read Seafort's messageMikey wrote:Er, what's a "BST?" I thought you guys were on GMT.
