Search speed is now boosted 15+ times. Still looking into more general speed issues.

OK, I've made an adjustment to the server and restarted it. I think it's a fair bit faster now but we will have to see how it goes over the next few days.

For me it was particularly reloading the main forum page (or another page I suppose) where I noticed the most problems; going from one page to another wasn't a big problem, at least as far as I recall...

That seemed (and still seems, to a lesser extent) to be the issue: loading the index was much more of a time vampire (to borrow Kendall's term) than going to a forum or reply page.

*EDIT* There seems to be a pretty sizeable lag when submitting a reply as well.

It was taking me about thirty seconds to navigate from one page to the next. No joke. I've been getting frustrated as hell. This morning seems better so far though.

Once I send a PM, I'll let you know if it still is slow for me. However, navigating to the index is much faster now.

Is anyone getting the slowdown today? Other sites are working at usual speed but the forum is taking ages to load pages.

I have had the same problem a couple of times over the last couple of days. It hasn't been too bad, but it has happened.

I've had it, mostly returning to the index from a thread or replying with the full editor.

I've noticed it in the past few days also: when loading a page on the forum the browser will sit for a few seconds waiting for the server to respond.

Same for me, across a variety of browsers.

It's been especially bad this evening, approx. 11 pm or so GMT.

For a brief period about an hour ago the forum wouldn't load at all.

Guys....this speed is really a problem. Seriously, I do not jest. It's taking between 30 to 45 seconds to load a single page. I timed it.
