Re: Henry Cavill Out as Superman

In truth he must have finally grown a beard large enough that the studio wouldn't even attempt to digitally shave him. :P

Re: How many computers do you own?

I've arranged my own list roughly in order of estimated "smart-ness" but if it looks like I'm stretching a bit, consider how much the devices even down on that list would dwarf the computing power of the mostly ground based systems used to control the Moon landing and the onboard systems a...

How many computers do you own?

If you look broadly, computers are becoming more ubiquitous and common even as devices we'd usually call a "computer" (in a desktop or laptop format, whether Mac or PC or whatnot) gradually decline. Smartphones and tablets are the most obvious examples, as both are types of miniaturized co...

Custom built desktop (at home) AMD Ryzen 7 1700X 8 core CPU ASUS X370 motherboard 24 GB RAM 2 blu ray players (2 because it allows for direct disk to disk copies and gives me insurance in case one can't read a particular disk. I don't play media off the disks but rip them to HDD) 256GB Samsung SS...

Re: Bond Movie idea

If Bond 25 is to pick up the Craig/Casino Royale and on arc, it just seems like Bond can't have nice things. In this case, it would figure that a second love would have to be taken from him as he was shown literally walking away from MI6 on the bridge at the end of Spectre and into the arms of his l...

Re: Arizona Senator John McCain has passed away at the age o

It says something about today's politics that polls have current Democrats remembering this former Republican more fondly than his party mates while many rank and file R's approve more of Vladimir Putin. Regardless, R.I.P. A war hero, proving the notion that Trump wouldn't know one when he sees one....

Re: James Gunn fired from Disney/Marvel Studios

Now it seems the twitter reveal was retribution by an 'alt-right' troll for Gunn endorsing anti-Trump positions.

Re: There's going to be a "Men in Black" reboot.

As it's not a full reboot, I suppose they'll just be cleaning their cookies and re-starting the browser. :P A spinoff of some sort would have some potential. MiB has already done time travel, in this case without pressing a reset button. It seems like there's material in this universe for more laugh...

James Gunn fired from Disney/Marvel Studios

A conservative political commentator dug up some old twitter posts by Gunn with outrageous and offensive material, evidently motivated to expose alleged double standards or something. At any rate, right in the middle of Comic-Con it was announced that Gunn will no longer work on any Marvel propertie...

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?

As I'm geographically somewhere between RK and Mikey the situation is the same. New York gets four seasons with cold winters including some bone-chilling days scattered around and moderate snow, and hot and humid summers. Most summer days sit in the 80's but there are always a couple of heat waves b...

Re: Shelter separated siblings "to stop them hugging"

The real issue as I see it is that we are conflating politics with morality. Wrong is wrong, and excusing wrong is wrong, no matter which side does it or what the agenda is. Don’t like illegal immigration? Fine, but there is a right way and a wrong way to go about enforcing it, and there is nothing...

Re: Shelter separated siblings "to stop them hugging"

This is a window into the heart of the American Conservative. The same Republican congressman and president are targeting the part of the ACA (which they brand "Obabacare" derisively) which guarantees coverage for pre-existing conditions. Trump's dept of Justice under Jeff Sessions is not ...
