Re: Silliest DITL Trek Topic Ever?

I remember those days as a young and impressionable ensign with a head full of rebellion and the make up to match.

Treacherous little... I try not to think of the chakat if I can.

Re: Should sci fi ships use VLS?

EVE online uses VLS in sci-fi extensively. Trailer below shows Caldari ships (Phoenix and Raven I believe) using them.

Re: Attack At Westminster

I am glad that parliament sat in session today and London continued on as much normal today.
Also big props to Tobias Ellwood. One of my region's MPs, ran to the stricken officer and attempted to save him even if he didn't prevail.

RIP to those who aren't going home.

You've got some pretty fast planes in the US.

Re: What's the latest in people's lives?

It got a little precarious when an elderly lady drover her Hyundai into a railing due to fog here this aft. Otherwise... :poke:  Oh, right, you're old enough to drive now... That's what happens when I disappear for four years - you're no longer 14 and I am no longer young enough to wear tight...

Re: Brexit

I am admittedly a person whose political leanings tend to follow a conservative economic perspective... so can someone please tell me, because my apparently feeble mind cannot comprehend... what exactly does Britain expect to gain, economically, from the Brexit? Not that I'd ever doubt a country wh...

Re: Constitutional Crisis!

This will sound utterly ignorant but I must ask the DITL house just how much power is vested in the Executive? I keep trying to dig up some decent, relatively unbiased commentary on the power of executive orders and who/what can overrule or not etc but every single source I find descends into a pro ...

Re: Rumours, news and general speculation

I immediately jumped to Centaur as well. Though the angles are a little sleek it's got that triangular/parallelogram style shaping going on from the Ent-A's nacelles but rotated to be on the same axis as the strut.

I remain incredibly sceptical about the entire affair.

Re: Capaldi to leave Doctor Who

This saddens me. I really like Capaldi though I appreciate he's divided opinion. I like his combative nature, the way he can launch into quite a scathing rant to get his point across. He's, to me, the most reminiscent of properly old classic Who. I know Tennant will go down in history as the favouri...

Jeez. I forget my password for a few months only to discover chrome had it saved all along (doh) and it's a sea of unread posts. You guys were busy.

Re: Brexit

I am not in the least bit surprised. When EU law is so intertwined with our own, with 40 years worth of roots grown in, it was never going to be anywhere near as easy as May wanted. The danger is she can simply cry foul at the Judiciary.

Re: Funny pics

From what I've seen she has that charismatic Firebrand attitude that Clinton lacked. For all he competence, Hillary always came across to me as rather cool and calm. Warren seems to have more balls, for lack of a better term.

Re: PRESIDENT TRUMP

I can only hope between him watering down some of his election promises, the moderate minded GOP and the Dems, they can keep the more extreme Republican mentality in check. (Pence and Palin, I'm looking at you.)
