I would guess the lessons being expressed to the cadet. Cut back the tech and its not very different from some of the inner cities I've had to work in. It even counts as peaceful next to South America, Africa or sections of Europe.

Re: Most depth?

Maybe, but that's not their way. Aggression is a simple part of their nature, much like fear or any other survival instinct in which a species carries with it. Its just that all those instincts come in varying degrees from one group to another. Martok had his proud warrior moments but at the same ti...

Re: Most depth?

I honestly did enjoy the Klingon episodes whether it was TNG or DS9. I do think people compare the Klingons with Worf too much. How would Worf really know how true Klingons behaved. We got too see that every time Worf ran into Klingons from the Empire. He was constantly off put by how different the...

Re: Most depth?

Essentially the Empire thrives on rivalry, rather than constant war. Warriors have to show their worth and it also provides a release of tension for a naturally aggressive race. Rather then declaring war ever other day, they find more practical ways to vent. Basically Space Vikings. IMO, its part o...

Someone falling over doesn't make them dead, also at the end of Avengers we saw him walking up to Fury.

Re: Deep Space Nine vs. Terok Nor

The exterior was likely left most intact because if it works then O'Brian isn't the type who does what isn't needed. That and he had a staff so small that he was still needed to help with field repairs. Shields and weapons are again likely to be nothing of the original. Everything else, most likely ...

Re: Revisiting the Odyssey

Pretty much, people tend to try and underscore issues that don't favor their desires of image. The Gene universe was supposed to be peace and love and hippies everywhere. However just as that fails in real life, it fails in a show that was meant to show what life could be. Life does not exist withou...

Re: Most depth?

The Klingons were left in a bit of limbo. I don't think anyone had a solid idea of what to do with them other then use them as a threat. Much like the Q, it fell on the actors to create something from nothing.

Re: Revisiting the Odyssey

Complacency isn't real, but thats what makes it so dangerous. The Federation declared itself at a time of peace, yet they saw more conflict then we saw in TOS.
